transitional home for women and children – Alexandria House is a transitional residence and house of hospitality. They provide safe and supportive housing for women and children in the process of moving from emergency shelter to economic stability and permanent housing. Located in the densely populated and ethnically diverse Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, they also serve their broader neighborhood community by providing educational and enrichment opportunities to their neighbors as well as their residents.- Winter/Summer Camp Program, After School Program, Child Care Program

CHIRP/LA (Comprehensive Housing Information and Referrals for People Living with HIV/AIDS) is a program of PAWS/LA (Pets Are Wonderful Support, Los Angeles), with grant funding from HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS) that is administered by HCIDLA (Los Angeles Housing & Community Investment Department).

New clients registering with CHIRP/LA must provide the following documents: Valid California ID or Driver’s License, HIV/AIDS Diagnosis form (within a year of service date), Proof of Income (GR or SSI print out, 3 months of pay stubs, bank statements, etc.), Proof of address (government document or current utility bill)

Classes – Drama, Jazz band, Three Classes on Beginning Instruments: Drumline, Drums, Dance, Choir, Song Writing & Music Production, Film Making, Tap,STEP. At the end of each semester, students in all classes are given the opportunity to perform or exhibit their work (i.e. film making & song writing classes) in showcases which are attended by family, friends and other guests. Additionally students are invited to participate in the two musical productions that occur in the fall and spring semesters.
